Why Bunny's Blog?

You may notice that throughout the blog baby is referred to as "bunny". Many people use nicknames like "bean" but I thought bunny was cute.

Eight Weeks Old and Storytime

Today Toby is eight weeks old!

My name is Toby and I would like to read you a story...

Once upon a time there was a handsome baby. He was the Prince of Ellis and all of his subjects adored him. One day he had dinner while listening to the song " I Just Can't Wait to be King". His eyes got very heavy and soon he was fast asleep.

His mommy and daddy put him in some comfy pajamas and when he opened his eyes he was playing in the sky with the moon and the stars. Suddenly a shooting star went by. The little prince waved at the shooting star, closed his eyes and said, "Please shooting star, I wish that I could be king please."

When he opened his eyes he found himself in the royal woods surrounded by all of the forest animals and he was surprised to find out he looked completely different. "You are our king now," they said. But the little prince was not very happy. He missed his mommy and daddy. He missed his toys. He wanted to go home!

The animals told him he must go and talk to the frog. The frog was the only one who would be able to help him go back home. So the little prince set out on a journey to find this frog and ask him for help. Soon the prince found him but the frog did not want to help him. The frog was lonely in his pond all by himself. The prince promised to be his friend if the frog would help him.

The frog thought...

And he thought...

And he thought...

Then he agreed to help the little prince because that is what friends do.
The prince closed his eyes and when he opened them again he was back to normal. "I will take you to the castle with me," he said.

And he did.

The End

Seven Weeks And Oh So Sleepy

Toby is seven weeks old today. I can't believe I am already writing another one of these. The time is really flying by. This week we had a lot of hot weather but also some natural sunlight so we could take some pictures. Toby was actually sleeping through most of them, but I think we got some cute ones.

This owl was one I got in a bag of hand-me-downs from a lady at work. I think the owl is really cute, fits the forest theme in Toby's room, and it is actually a puppet too.

Toby often likes to sleep with one or both arms out or above his head. It is one reason we really don't swaddle him anymore. Not only does he not fit in the blankets, but he has never really liked to have his hands contained. I adore the little fox outfit he has on here, but he is actually probably too big for it now.

I think this picture came out really nice, but I was really mad at my camera because it kept auto-focusing on the bunny instead of Toby's head no matter what I tried to do. Eventually I just took the picture anyway because I thought it was cute, but I am annoyed because I feel like it could have been just a little better if my camera had cooperated.

One downside to taking photos when Toby fell asleep is that I feel like a lot of them are visually similar. That is why I liked when we could pose some more slightly different ones. I don't always like them and end up using them, but I thought this one was really cute. *kisses*

This white bunny also came from IKEA. Who would have thought they would be a good place for affordable stuffed forest animals? I like this one because it is very plush, but the downside is white is much harder to photograph than other colors (that is one reason wedding photography costs what it does).

And just in case you thought Toby slept through all of his photographs, here we have one where he is awake. I think he is pretty photogenic even when he is sticking his tongue out at the camera!

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day!

Yesterday Ben came home with some flowers for me and today I used them to try and take some nice holiday photos of Toby. We put him in some cute red pants, but then I didn't like any of the pictures with them so just pretend he is wearing cute red pants too.

At first Toby was a little skeptical. After all the only other flower he has encountered was the dandelion that he tried to eat after I had taken a picture of him.

However he seemed to relax pretty quickly. I hope that by the time he gets to school that kids will still make little boxes for valentines and have parties and enjoy the fun part of the holiday. Of course being in California though, I'm sure the treats will be peanut, gluten, dairy free etc but might come with a sprinkling of measles.

Toby smiles some big smiles now, but he often makes this little Elvish smile too. I think he might be popular with the ladies later, but I actually dislike how people joke about little boys having"girlfriends" and such. I find it kind of creepy.

I'll just insist that girls have cooties for a long, long time.

Six Weeks and So Foxy

Toby is six weeks old today!

He has some very cute fox outfits that he is outgrowing way too quickly so I wanted to get some cute pictures while they still fit.

Toby is looking very serious with his foxy friend here. The fox set (baby pictured here) came from ikea.

You can see here that I tend to take picture in his crib so the cats can't interfere.

This is my favorite photo but the quality is not as good because I took it with my cell phone later in the evening.

Five Weeks Old and Fowl Weather Friends

Ooops, I am a little late posting an update today. Baby Tobias is 5 weeks old!

This week we had to deal with thrush (for mom and Toby) but it is under control now.

While we have friends and family getting a lot of snow this week, here we are "enjoying" our warm weather and dandelions. (Someone send an air conditioner and ice cream!)

A friend of Ben's decided to try her hand at crocheting animals and made this cute little owl for Toby. I think she did an amazing job and Toby seems to like it too.
